David Hampshire has been a professional actor since 1966 when he played the title role in the BBC TV series Jennings. He began writing in 2001 and to date he has written twenty one short plays and two full-length plays.
David's plays are written for the stage within a single setting but they readily lend themselves to radio and television adaptation. Two of his plays form part of a six part situation comedy written under the series title Tom's Tales.
A collection of David's writing, Moments In Life a three volume anthology of his short plays are published by Stagescripts Ltd. His first full-length play Face Value was published by Stagescripts Ltd in 2017. David's latest play Funny Turns, a comedy set in a 1930's theatrical boarding house, will be published by Stagescripts Ltd. this Spring.
